This week Punjabi’s around the world can raise a toast for their forever cheerful music. Punjabi music is leading again this week in the official BBC Asian top 40 download chart. The most popular bollywood music is competing with Punjabi music only at 13 positions and remaining 1 rank goes to the non-Indian music (at number 21 Jay Sean’s Like this Like that). PBN feat Gurlej Akhtar and Balwinder Bhatti’s song fitteh muh holds the top most rank for the second week consecutively. Newly released Nindy Kaur’s song two seater is at second number. At number four is Diljit’s lak 28, which goes up 2 steps even after 16 weeks of its release. Ravi Bal, Khailash Kher and Shazia Manzoor’s trio cheerfully holds 8th rank with their song sohneya yaddan.
Jassi Sidhu’s jaan mangdi, though relaxing at number 12, dipped three steps from its last position. Lehmbar Hussainpuri’s first brush with bollywood is keeping him on ninth cloud with his ravishing peppy song saddi gali, which has gone up 3 steps from last week’s position and is enjoying 16th rank in the download chart. Though it is a bollywood song but we have included it in all 26 punjabi songs because it is a complete Punjabi song used in Hindi Movie. Garry Sandhu’s melodious romantic number chhad ke na jayin is enjoying a respectful position at 22nd rank. Sharry Maan’s all time favorite yaar anmulle is still holding the 31st position in the chart even after 25 weeks of its release, but it has gone 11 steps downward. Other Punjabi artists in this BBC Asian top 40 download chart are DJ Dips feat Garry Sandhu, JK, Lil Amit feat Kaka Bhainiawala, DJ H feat Geeta Zaildar, Mani Hype feat Jaspinder Narula & Nirmal Sidhu, Notorius Jatt, D Sarb, Bups Saggu feat Miss Pooja, DJ Rags feat Sudesh Kumari & Meet Malkit, Gupz Saund/Metz N Trix, Bikram Singh, Foji, Nickie G feat Manjit Sohi, DJ Harvey feat Nirmal Sidhu. Mika Singh is also there but for his bollywood song dhinka chika. So people out there keep listening good music and do not forget to by it original.
