On 30th May front pages of all the leading newspapers of the region were painted with full page advertisement of Fer Mamla Gadbad Gadbad. On the other hand pre-planned teaser created a huge buzz of television network of PTC. As soon as the team ventured into social media the fire of promotion went up. It is the first film of popular singer and lyricist Jaggi Singh as music director.
Due to huge promotion over social media, first released song of the film ‘Lak Gadvi Warga’ went viral and became one of the most viewed Punjabi movie song in recent history and crossed 4 lac views mark on Youtube within days of its release. And then came another song, ‘Putt Sardaran De’, due to its pumped up promotion over TV channel and social media, it not only achieved what the ‘Lak’ song did, but it went a step further! ‘Putt Sardaran De’ has already got more than 5.6 lac views on Youtube, and it has only been a week since it was released..! Marketing team of this Punjabi film is expecting that new released song ‘Vaaja’ will break all previous records of Punjabi cinema. According to them the viewers have also given amazing response to the teasers and the trailers of FMGG.
Apart from Youtube, the official Facebook page is also helping to pump up the promotional activity. With the unique contests being run in the page, people are participating to win prizes and also a chance to meet the Punjabi heart-throb Roshan Prince in person! Within a month, there have been a number of contests and interesting posts regarding the movie and the cast and crew. Marketing team of Punjabi film Fer Mamla Gadbad Gadbad is also considering micro blogging site Twitter as huge promotional social media platform. According to the team hash tag #FMGGthemovie has been the number 2 trending topic in India.
After creating a big buzz online PTC Motion Picture is all set to start ground promotion. Soon, live promotions are going to be held all over Punjab with live presence of the cast and crew of Fer Mamla Gadbad Gadbad. A hopeful team member exclaims, “And it is certain that the ground promotion will recreate the buzz that is currently present in the social media platforms.”
Further Roshan Prince explains about the fun element of the whole activity in his own words, “The making of the movie was much fun! First of all he is getting good promotion as singer because songs sung by him are getting huge rotation on various television channel and social media platforms. Secondly, promos of the film are establishing him as the huge acting brand of Punjabi cinema. According to the trade experts the brand value of Roshan Prince as singer and actor is going up through this bumper marketing activity. It is eating up the mainstream media space as well as dividing the attention of social media audience. It will convert into good chunk of profit for his upcoming music albums and Punjabi films. A little pie of this publicity cake is also enjoyed by less known Japji Khaira, while new face Bhanushree Mehra is also hopeful to have a good share of it.
