Manpreet Kaur of city beautiful Chandigarh becomes the winner of Vivel Miss PTC Punjabi 2012 while Pawandeep Kaur of Jalandhar and Varinder Kaur of Mohali were crowned as first and second runner up respectively. The annual beauty pageant for finding the woman of substance reached its final stage on 9th November. Vivel Miss PTC Punjabi 2012, the much coveted and keenly awaited talent hunt finale captivated the imagination of Punjabis spread across the globe once again.
As twelve finalists Gurjot Kaur, Pawandeep Kaur, Priyanka Gill, Manpreet Kaur, Sukhjeet Kaur, Satvinder Kaur, Deepinder Baweja, Varinder Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur, Rupinder Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Indu Kotra performed their best for the climax of the glitzy and star studded grand finale evening set up at PAP grounds, Jalandhar. Stage was sizzled with the super performances by Amrinder Gill, Harbhajan Maan, Gursewak Maan, Kamal Heer, Manmohan Waris and Miss Pooja. Manpreet Kaur has been awarded with cash prize of rupees 1 lakh and a Dubai Trip while the first runner-up has been awarded with cash prize of Rs 50, 000 and second runner-up has been awarded with cash prize of Rs 25, 000.
Being hosted by versatile actor and singer Satinder Satti, the event started with a breathtaking Punjabi Bhangra Medley. Then a tribute was paid to the revered Punjabi satirist and actor Late Mr. Jaspal Bhatti. Young Heartthrob Amrinder Gill glittered the stage and got a warm response when he sang two of his new songs from his upcoming Punjabi movies Saddi Love Story and Tu Mera Bai, Main Tera Bai. When Amrinder sang- Tere to shuru ishq mera tere te muk jana, saha da safar tere kadma te ruk jana, tenu hi bss chaheya a, tenu hi bss paya a, tu hi meri just ju, reh ja ni akhiya de ru b ru, from movie Saddi Love Story, he got a roaring response from the audience. Miss Pooja entered on the stage with attitude and style. She sang her new song ‘Mundeya nu daura pe gya, main jado daura kita shehar da.’ from her latest album ‘Jattitude’. Jattitude was released on the stage after her performance. Then young desi folk star Kamal Heer who reminded the childhood by singing ‘Illatan di jarh hunde c’ in his own style. Then he sang a song for Punjabi drivers, ‘main wazan wadha leya lameya rootan te, par meri naar patang de wargi ud’di fooka te’. Then came Harbhajan Maan who started with the song ‘call Jalandhar ton’. Then he sang few songs live from his upcoming Album Satrangi Peengh-2 with his brother Gursewak Maan, without any track played from background due to some technical reasons. With his song ‘Bharat Maa da putt begana main Punjab Bolda haa’ he touched the pinnacle.
